Done
The MBA is done. A magnificent play on Sep-1 that will be hard to forget followed by Cranfield Conference on Sep-3 and Sep-4. Our final act as an MBA cohort was that of unveling a canvas in the forum that represents what we did in our year. This was followed by a Seventies party on the night of 4th September.
The play was simply superb. A team of more than 25 MBAs participated in making the play an event worth remembering. The fact that everyone remembered their lines and executed their roles so well, typified the excellence-orientation that our MBA batch has been all about.
The Conference was another highlight. I have a personal affinity towards conferences as they tend to be long full-day events with very little interaction. However, the Cranfield Conference was different. Serious speaker presentations were interspersed with light balloon debate sessions, that involved two teams of 2 people each debate against each other on a topic. The session I enjoyed the most was Question Time that had two speakers from the industry along with Sean Rickard & Jeremy from our batch. The questions were handpicked by David Grayson from a list of questions that the cohort had submitted for nomination. The questions were provocative (all around CSR - the theme of the conference) and invited a serious discussion and deference from the panel members.
On a personal note, I am leaving the campus on Saturday. Its a pity I will have to partly miss the India-England decider. Have a lot of packing to do.
If you are a MBA07-08 participant, I can only hope that this blog has helped you and some of you avid readers will continue this thankless tradition. I also know that a lot of you are ever-curious / anxious about the job scene. The last 2 weeks or so have been very very eventful, with quite a few people getting jobs. I got mine today
and a good one as well. My only suggestion to you (… I hate being preachy) would be to keep your focus. Things really start happening when you are just about to graduate. Resist the thought that you are not going to get a great job, something that can happen after a spate of rejections. Even a lion makes a successful kill after many failed attempts only when it is very hungry… and therefore very light, aggressive and quick. (You can’t expect a better analogy from a National Geographic fan
).More often than not rejections happen for unknown reasons beyond your control, and are not at all representative of your job-worthiness. I will let you discover those reasons for yourself. Good luck and enjoy the year !!!!

Congratulations on your MBA, and of course all the best for your new job. Hopefully we will keep the Cranfield Flag flying high as you all have done so far.
All the best

Thanks, buddy. I will be tracking your year group’s achievement closely as I realise we have set the bar high. Cranfield has a history of the bar being raised every year.

Hey Amit, Congrates for the job and fantastic blog. I am a Cransfield aspirant, having my interview in couple of days. A piece of advice or two would really help me. They have given me a topic and asked to come prepared at my telephonic interview.
